A quick recap of the week that was in the BC Conference. 

Westshore Rebels 52
Okanagan Sun 23

It was a game that had all the makings of a classic but turned into a dominating performance by the hometown Rebels, handing the Sun their first regular season loss in 18 games.  They outscored them 26-9 in the first half and never looked back.

Quarterback Te Jessie picked the Sun defence apart completing 22 passes for 303 yards, threw for five touchdowns and ran for another.  He found Cairo Berry twice for scores, along with Ferrell Yakim-Kenfack, Kwame Franklin and Kieran Poissant for one each. 

The defence was superb, forcing seven turnovers.  Riley Berfelo was excellent with six tackles, recovered a fumble and knocked down a pass. 

The Sun offence didn’t have much of an answer against the Rebels defence.  They scored all three touchdowns on the ground, as Aiden Wiberg, Liam Kroeger and Connor Bjorgan each got into the endzone. 

With the win, it puts the Rebels in the driver seat in the BC Conference through the first few weeks of the season.  It was the only match-up between these two teams on the regular season schedule. 

This coming weekend the Rebels (4-0) will visit the Langley Rams (2-1) while the Sun (3-1) lick their wounds over the bye week. 

Prince George Kodiaks 17
VI Raiders 15

For the first time in franchise history the Kodiaks have won back-to-back games and have won their first ever road game.  They would outscore the Raiders 6-3 in the final frame to secure the win. 

The reigning BC Conference Special Teams Player of the Week, kicker Brady Harper connected on three field goals including the game winner in the fourth quarter. 

Most of the offence came on the ground with Makahaya Williams running for 126 yards, while Xander Shane collected 107.  That said, they scored their lone touchdown through the air when Sam Sabine connected with Kaden Wagner. 

The defence held the Raiders to a pair of field goals in the second half and both Hayden Matheson and Nicholas Tremblay picked off passes. 

Meanwhile the Raiders lone touchdown came when quarterback Ben Chomolok found Paul Romanoff for the score.  Chomolok finished with 14 completions and 156 yards. 

This coming weekend the Kodiaks (2-2) and Raiders (0-4) enjoy the bye week.

Langley Rams 36
Kamloops Broncos 3

The Rams had a nice balanced attack against the Broncos for their second win of the season.  Quarterback Trey Jones threw for 200 yards on 15 completions and hit Isaiah Edwards and Broxx Comia for touchdowns.  Edwards caught eight passes for 135 yards. Jones used his legs and ran a ball into the endzone. 

Bruce Jones and Kairo Hassan also reached paydirt on the ground. 

Defensively the Rams held the Broncos to 37 yards on the ground and forced four turnovers.  One of those turnovers was an interception and 37-yard return by Kieran Pama.   Evan Nolli had a nice game with a pair of sacks and three tackles. 

The lone points for the Broncos came from a 23-yard field goal off the foot of Reise Huber in the fourth quarter.

This coming weekend the Rams (2-1) welcome the undefeated Westshore Rebels (4-0) while the Broncos (0-4) visit the Valley Huskers (3-1).
