The Thunder came out with a thunderous first quarter scoring 23 points and seemingly never took their first of the gas in a lopsided win.  

Offensively they gained 613 total yards led by the passing attack of quarterback Carter Moberg who completed 21 passes for 367 yards and five touchdowns. He found nine different receivers led by 12 receptions from Ben Walz for 100 yards and two majors while Isaiah Woodley had a massive game with 126 receiving yards on seven catches and got into the endzone.  Sadik Sadik and Ryland Leichert also caught touchdowns.  Speaking of Leichert he rushed 19 times for 126 yards and had another touchdown.

On the defensive side the Thunder held the Wildcats to 57 yards on the ground and had six sacks, two by Ethan Lucke.

The Wildcats’ touchdowns came through the air when quarterbacks Caleb Taylor and Marcos Soltero connected with Mekhi Tyrell and Jerel Brown for majors. 

This coming weekend the Thunder (2-0) will host the Winnipeg Rifles (1-1) and the Wildcats (0-2) face their crosstown rivals, the Edmonton Huskies (1-1) on Saturday night.

Calgary Colts 38

It was a high-scoring affair that the Huskies won after the Colts bus broke down on the way to the game.  Both offences tallied over 400 yards.

Huskies quarterback Carson Neitz showed his versatility throwing for 164 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for two other majors. A total of 12 receivers caught a pass with William Campbell and Carver Trapp both finding the endzone.  Ife Adebogun also scored a touchdown on the ground. 

The defence got on the scoreboard as well when Cedric McCallum picked up a fumble and returned it 18 yards to paydirt. Braden Ross also intercepted a pass. 

After coughing up 13 points in the first quarter the Colts started to click in the second scoring 17 points, but it wasn’t enough overall. 

Quarterback Liam Ozkowski completed 25 passes for 361 yards finding Nicholas Sirleaf and Jonathan Dikome for touchdowns.  Tim Dewer hauled in 11 passes for 115 yards, while Sirleaf had eight catches for 112 yards.  Ozkowski used his feet to keep drives alive with 61 rushing yards and a score.  Alan Xiang and Ethan Perry also had rushing touchdowns. 

This coming weekend the Huskies (1-1) host the Edmonton Wildcats (0-2) and the Colts (0-2) visit the Saskatoon Hilltops (2-0).

Winnipeg Rifles 0

It was all Hilltops last weekend as they shut out the Rifles primarily using the ground attack and a solid defensive effort. 

Running back Boston Davidsen was outstanding carrying the rock 18 times for 194 yards.  In all, the Hilltops gathered 264 yards on the ground.  Meanwhile, through the air quarterback Trey Reider threw for 101 yards and hit Noah Flaman and Datiel Fountaine for majors. 

The Toppers also got production from their defence forcing an incredible nine turnovers.  Dalton Urban picked up a fumble and returned it 61 yards for a touchdown, while Carter Wingert added his own fumble recovery for a touchdown, this one of 50 yards.  The defence added five sacks, two from Riece Kack.

This coming weekend the Hilltops (2-0) will host the Calgary Colts (0-2) while the Rifles (1-1) look to rebound when they visit the Regina Thunder (2-0).
