The Huskers and Kodiaks win

A quick recap of Week 4 in the BC Conference.

Prince George Kodiaks 25
Kamloops Broncos 11

The Kodaks won their first game of the season scoring 22 of their 25 points in the first half.

Offensively the Kodiaks were outgained but did just enough to record the win.  They collected 225 yards getting a 44-yard rushing touchdown from Kyle Cowley and quarterback Quinn Nuekomm found Jerome Erickson for their other major.  He completed 13 of 27 passes for 151 yards.

Kicker Brady Harper was an important piece on the scoresheet kicking three field goals.

Defensively they forced four turnovers which included a pair of interceptions.

The Broncos outgained the Kodiaks but just couldn’t finish drives with points.   Quarterback Clark Snider completed 14 passes, one of them went for a touchdown to Brock Dufort.

Next weekend the Kodiaks (1-2) will play their first road game when they travel to meet the VI Raiders (0-3) while the Broncos (0-3) will visit the Langley Rams (1-1).

Valley Huskers 67
VI Raiders 6

For the second consecutive week, the Huskers blew out the Raiders collecting an incredible 707 yards of total offence, 413 of which was through the air.

Quarterbacks Tyran Duval and Lucas Feaver combined to throw five touchdowns finding Payton Lake three times, while Luc Rodriques, Josh Caverly and Brandon Halsey each caught one.  Lake finished with 137 yards on five catches.   Meanwhile, on the ground Reece Wyke carried the rock 12 times for 157 yards and got into the endzone.

The Huskers special teams got on the board as well with Christopher Rolack returning a kick-off 103 yards for a major.

The Raiders struggled again moving the ball against the Huskers defence.  Their lone touchdown was a Ben Chomolok pass to Ryker Sansbury.

Next weekend the Huskers (3-1) will enjoy a bye week while the Raiders (0-3) will welcome the Prince George Kodiaks (1-2).

The Okanagan Sun – Langley Rams game was postponed due to the dangerous wildfires burning around the city of Kelowna.
