The Calgary Colts will hit the gridiron next weekend to open their 2023 Spring Camp and they are expecting another large group of players to be in attendance.

This is actually the second time the Colts coaching staff has been on the field with a new crop of players.  During the weekend of May 12-14, they held a Rookie Camp to allow the youngest players to get on the field and show off their skills.

Speaking of the Colts’ coaching staff, they are led by new head coach Greg DaLaval who has quite the coaching pedigree.  He has 19 years of USports experience highlighted by a Vanier Cup championship with the UBC Thunderbirds in 2015.

The Colts also added Grey Cup winning coach Tom Higgins this past offseason as the team’s defensive coordinator.  With these two coaches leading the charge, the Colts should turn plenty of heads this season.

Last year the Colts finished fifth in the Prairie Conference and missed out on the CJFL playoffs.  Coach DaLaval will look to turn this franchise around and get them back to their winning ways.  They will get their first test right out of the gate when they host the defending Conference champion Regina Thunder on Sunday August 13th to open the season at Shouldice.
