The first CJFL team to kick-off spring camp in preparation for the 2023 season are the Prince George Kodiaks in the BC Conference.
They opened camp on Thursday led by new head coach Jamie Boreham.

With the Kodiaks in just their second season they focused their recruiting efforts in the northern part of British Columbia primarily. However, with the extensive football connections of coach Boreham the Kodiaks will see players from other parts of BC and beyond.

Most recently coach Boreham was the head coach of the Okanagan Sun until stepping down in the early part of 2022.  In three seasons he guided the Sun to a 12-6 regular season record and was 1-2 in the playoffs.

The Kodiaks will look to improve upon their 1-9 record in their inaugural season last year.  They started making strides towards the end of last year and will look to ride that momentum with their new head coach coming into spring camp.  Following this weekend, the Kodiaks will hold their main camp beginning July 6th.

Oddly enough they will open the 2023 season against Boreham’s old team, the defending national champion Sun on July 29th in Prince George.
