It’s déjà vu all over again as the Ontario Conference final features the St. Clair Saints hosting the London Beefeaters in Windsor on Saturday night.

This will be the third straight season they lock-up with the Beefeaters winning both previous matchups in 2021 and 2019.  Both games were played in Windsor.  The winner of this game will host the National Semi-Final game with the winner of the BC Conference on October 29th. 

The Saints swept the seasonal series after wins of 26-18 and 53-20. In both games their offence gained over 400 yards of total offence and predominately used the ground attack to wear down the Beefeater defence.  They scored six touchdowns on the ground with Jonathan Cartier and quarterback Andrew Brush scoring two each. 

Their defence has also been outstanding in the series forcing eight turnovers and have tallied a pair of touchdowns.   Josh Allen rumbled 52-yards for a pick-six and Tynan Braymiller recovered a fumble for a major. 

The Beefeaters have won four straight games coming into this championship and are hoping for a bit of the same magic they had last year in this very final.  They were able to score 15 points with under two minutes to play on route to a 15-14 come from behind victory in Windsor and went onto host Canadian Bowl.

They are going to try and do something no-one else has been able to do so far this season and that’s beat the Saints.  It's very similar to last season after the Saints ran the table but faltered in the Conference final.

This game has all the makings over another classic and will be entertaining to watch.  The weather will not play a factor as Environment Canada is calling for a beautiful clear evening after a bright sunny day.
