The BC Conference opens the Canadian Bowl playoffs on Saturday afternoon as the Sun and Rams renew their postseason rivalry. This will be the fourth straight season these two have met in the playoffs but the first semi-final meeting since 2019.

The Sun have been the class of the Conference with an unblemished record of 10-0 with one shutout. In half of their wins they held the opposition to under 10 points.  In their two wins over the Rams they averaged a 22-point margin of victory including a 42-10 win on the storied natural grass of the Apple Bowl.

Offensively the Sun have been a juggernaut and extremely well-balanced averaging over 44 points a game.  As a matter of fact, their lowest point total this season has been 20, which was their first game against the Rams in Week 2 of the season. In four games alone, they have scored over 40 points each time.

Defensively they have been equally as solid allowing a measly 13 points a game as five players were named to the Conference All-Star team.  They are laced with veteran leadership including Tyler Going, Garrett Cape and Kelon Thomas.

The Rams are still the defending Canadian Bowl champions but have looked very different from last season.  They will be well rested after getting a bye in the final week of the regular season and finished with three wins in their last four games.  The only setback over that time frame was the 32-point loss to the Sun.

On the offensive side the Rams will need to come up with something special.  Their passing attack has been the worst in the Conference and their run game has not been as effective as previous seasons.  They have scored the fewest points of any BC Conference playoff team; however, their defence has given up the second fewest points but still coughed up 20 a game.

On paper this is a David vs. Goliath match-up with the Rams needing to force mistakes and then capitalizing on them to have any kind of success.
