This past Thanksgiving weekend the BC Conference wrapped up their regular season. Now it’s time to announce the CJFL Football Canada Players of the Week.
Offensive Player of the Week
Reece Wyke – Valley Huskers
With his 169 yards gained on the ground on Saturday Reece Wyke hit the 1,000-yard plateau and becomes just fourth Valley Husker to ever reach this milestone. He was busy in the regular season finale carrying the ball 28 times and scored three touchdowns. He finishes the season with 1,095 yards on an even 200 carries.
Defensive Player of the Week
Kelon Thomas – Okanagan Sun
This past weekend the Okanagan Sun defence decided to dine on Kodiak rather than turkey. They were outstanding led by All-Star defensive lineman Kelon Thomas who recorded three sacks plus forced, then recovered a fumble. Thomas and the Sun defence held the Kodiaks to just 151 yards of total offence.
Special Teams Player of the Week
Kemarr Bishop – Okanagan Sun
The Okanagan Sun special teams were indeed special this past weekend and Kemarr Bishop was the brightest star. He returned six punts in total, none more exciting than a 71-yard return for a touchdown. He averaged over 26 yards a return, accumulating 160 yards in total.
