Okanagan Sun @ Prince George Kodiaks – Saturday October 8, 7:00pm – Masich Stadium | WATCH HERE

Both the Sun and Kodiaks will wrap up the regular season on Saturday night. For the Sun it’s the final tune-up before hosting the Langley Rams in the Canadian Bowl playoffs while the Kodiaks inaugural season will come to a close.

In their first meeting on August 27th in Kelowna, the Sun defence pitched a 35-0 shutout and never really allowed the visitors an opportunity to move the football.  It has been the only shutout the Sun have achieved this season but have kept three other teams to just single digit scoring including a 58-1 win.

The Kodiaks first CJFL season has been somewhat expected as an expansion franchise.  They have played well at times and did score their only win of the season in front of the hometown crowd. Since that 28-20 victory over the Valley Huskers they have lost five straight, a string that began with the shutout loss to the Sun.

Kamloops Broncos @ Valley Huskers - Saturday October 8, 7:00pm – Exhibition Field | WATCH HERE

It may be hard to believe but this is the first and only match up of the season between these two teams and it comes in final weekend of the year.

For the Huskers, a win and a Westshore Rebels loss would give them a home playoff date for the first time in franchise history.  Regardless of the outcome the Huskers have clinched a playoff spot and will face the Rebels, the only thing that needs to be determined is the location.

The Huskers have won three of their last four games and have been undefeated at home with a 4-0 record.  Another milestone to keep an eye on is All-Star running back Reece Wyke who is just 74 yards away from becoming the Huskers first 1,000-yard rusher in 14 seasons.

Meanwhile the Broncos have an opportunity to finish their season on a high note and be a spoiler to the potential Huskers home playoff date.  They are coming off a loss to the Okanagan Sun, a game they were actually leading heading into the fourth quarter.

VI Raiders @ Westshore Rebels - Saturday October 8, 7:00pm – Starlight Stadium | WATCH HERE

This will be the third meeting of the campaign between these Island rivals with Rebels looking for the seasonal sweep and to clinch a home playoff date.

The Rebels have dominated the first two meetings winning 45-10 and 47-28 just two weeks ago.  Another victory would clinch a home playoff date, which they would host the Valley Huskers on October 15th.  Interestingly the Rebels suffered a loss at the hands of the Huskers last weekend and have lost two of their last three games.  Their only victory over that span was against the Raiders.

Speaking of the Raiders they are looking to play spoiler.  Coming off a bye week, if they can beat the Rebels, it could place them on the road for the post season.  A Raiders win would also give them something to build upon going into 2023.
