GTA Grizzlies @ Hamilton Hurricanes – Thursday September 1, 8:00pm – Tim Hortons Field
Week 7 of the CJFL season opens tonight on a rare Thursday night game in Hamilton where the Hurricanes welcome the GTA Grizzlies.
Tonight, is one of the only dates the Hurricanes have to host a game at Tim Hortons Field, home of the CFL’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats. They haven’t hosted a game at this facility since 2018. Thursday night is the unofficial kick-off to the Labour Day weekend and what’s better than a Hamilton-Toronto football game?!
Both teams are looking to regroup after losing last weekend. The Hurricanes were upset at home 28-21 by the Ottawa Sooners while the Grizzlies also lost at home, falling 43-7 to the visiting London Beefeaters.
It’s the halfway point of the season and both teams need to win this game. The Hurricanes need a victory to keep pace with the leaders in the standings while the Grizzlies are looking for their first win of the season.
