The best players from Week 1 of the CJFL season

Following Week 1 of the CJFL season the Players of the Week presented by Football Canada have been unveiled courtesy of the BC Conference.

Offensive Player of the Week
QB Te Jessie – Westshore Rebels

What a debut for Te Jessie, going into the den of the defending Canadian Bowl champions and put up more points than the Langley Rams allowed all of last season.  Jessie completed 16 passes for 222 yards and threw three touchdowns to three different receivers.  He also scored a major with his legs on five carries.

Defensive Player of the Week
DL Kelon Thomas – Okanagan Sun

He’s wearing a new number in 2022, but he showed he is equally as dominating as last season.  Thomas led the Sun defence with five solo tackles, had a sack and a knockdown to keep the VI Raiders from moving the football.

Special Teams Player of the Week
KR Dylan Manocha – Valley Huskers

He was able to give his Huskers team excellent field position all night long.  Manocha returned five punts flipping the field gathering 85 yards.   He also returned two kick-offs averaging 31.5 yards to set up his offence.
