The Edmonton Huskies will no doubt be in the mix in the Prairie Conference once again in 2022 and will look to host their first Canadian Bowl since 2004.

After a terrific season in 2021 the Huskies lose three players to graduation, and they leave large cleats to fill particularly on the offensive side.

QB Declan O’Flaherty – he’s arguably the biggest graduate for the Huskies after leading most of the Conference categories last season.  He led with 138 completions, 234 attempts, 2115 yards, and 19 touchdowns.

RB Brandt Burzuk – he has been a lethal weapon for the Huskies out of the backfield over his career, unfortunately missing out on last season due to an injury.   In 2019 he was named an All-Canadian galloping 824 yards on 129 carries and scored six touchdowns.

LB Jack Jones – he will be missed on the Huskies defence this season after making 14 solo tackles and two assisted stops in 2021.

The Huskies will open the season on Sunday August 14th when they visit the Calgary Colts.  They won’t host their home opener until Week 3 when they welcome the Regina Thunder on August 28th.
