The Calgary Colts are preparing for the 2022 season but do have some big holes to fill specifically at the linebacker position.  In total, five linebackers have graduated including the team’s best player as they all join the CJFL Grad Class of 2021 along with an important offensive weapon.

LB Austin Daisy – he’s the biggest graduate for the Colts after a season in which he was named the CJFL Larry Wruck Defensive Player of the Year.  He led the CJFL with 55 solo tackles, collected 14 assisted tackles, 2.5 sacks, had a knockdown, forced a fumble and even intercepted a pass returning in 52 yards last season alone.

TE Brandon MacIsaac – the former Rookie of the Year has been an important offensive piece for the Colts for the last several years.  In 2021 he averaged over 10 yards with each reception, hauling in 22 passes, three of them for touchdowns.

LB TJ Bucel – he’s another linebacker that graduates from the Colts after a solid performance in 2021 making 23 tackles, four assisted stops, recovered a fumble and knocked down a pass.

LB Jake Erickson – he was an important linebacker for the Colts last season and was able to make an impact with the offences focused on Daisy.  In 2021 Erickson made nine tackles, and 1.5 sacks and had a knockdown.

LB Cam Monds – he had a quiet season in 2021 but his energy will be missed on the Colts roster this season.  Last year he blocked a kick, forced a fumble and had a pair of tackles on special teams.

LB Jonathan Odera – after two seasons with the Colts he has graduated from the program and will be missed in 2022.
