The Regina Thunder had an outstanding season in 2021 finishing first in the Prairie Conference for the first time in franchise history and went undefeated. They also rewrote the team history books by hosting their first ever Conference final.
This offseason they have some big shoes to fill with six players graduating from the program.
LB Davin Williamson (pictured) – he has meant so much to the Thunder defence over the last several years. In 2021 he collected 15 tackles, seven assisted tackles, had two sacks and had a knockdown
LB Carter Stusek – he tallied 21 tackles in 2021 along with nine assisted stops and had four knockdowns
DL Jordan Tholl – he has been a tremendous contributor both on and off the field. In 2021 had combined to have six tackles, eight assisted stops and had a sack. Off the field in 2020 he was named the CJFL Past Commissioner’s Award winner for outstanding community service
OL Matthew Hajewich – he was one of the reasons the Thunder offence dominated defences on the ground and through the air by either blowing open holes on the line of scrimmage or giving his quarterback time to throw the ball
LB Nicholai Sauer – he has been an important piece on the Thunder defence and will be missed in 2022
OL Damon Iron – the veteran offensive lineman will be missed on the field
