The Langley Rams head coach prepares for a familiar foe

Last weekend the Langley Rams captured their third straight BC Conference Cullen Cup title with a 7-4 victory over the Okanagan Sun.

The game was played in a steady downpour which made it difficult on both offences to move the football.  Neither team scored a touchdown, there were four conceded safeties and it was a field goal in the first quarter that turned out to be the difference.  Obviously both defences played a major factor and as they say, “defence wins championships.”

The next test for the Rams is hosting the six-time defending CJFL champion Saskatoon Hilltops on Saturday in the National Semi-Final.  It’s the third season in a row that these two teams will lock-up.  Rams’ head coach Cory Philpot has seen the Hilltops beat his club in the 2018 and 2019 Canadian Bowls and he knows this game will be equally as difficult, but is happy to be playing at home in Langley.
