The Prairie Conference announced their Most Outstanding Players and Coach of the Year for the 2021 season as a build up to the Prairie Conference semi-finals on Sunday.

Prairie Conference Outstanding Players:

Coach of the Year – Scott MacAulay – Regina Thunder (8-0).  He led the Thunder to their first ever undefeated regular season and now home field advantage throughout the Prairie Conference playoffs.

Outstanding Offensive Lineman – Mason Ochs – Saskatoon Hilltops

Outstanding Running Back – Alex Gayle – Edmonton Huskies - he won the Prairie Conference rushing title with 149 carries for 927 yards and 12 touchdowns

Outstanding Receiver – Rylan Sokul – Regina Thunder – 38 receptions for 621 yards and 6 touchdowns

Outstanding Quarterback – Carter Shewchuk – Regina Thunder – 104 of 164 (63%), 1630 yards, 14 touchdowns, 114.6 passer efficiency rating

Outstanding Defensive Lineman – Cam Michaud – Calgary Colts – Cam Michaud – 22 tackles, 4 assisted tackles, 1.5 sacks, 1 forced fumble

Outstanding Linebacker – Austin Daisy – Calgary Colts - 55 tackles, 14 assisted tackles, 2.5 sacks, 1 knockdown, 1 forced fumble, 1 interception

Outstanding Defensive Back – Cheyvez Campbell – Edmonton Huskies – 19 tackles, 1 assisted tackle, 5 interceptions

Outstanding Special Teams Player – Eric Maximuik (kicker) – Regina Thunder – 20 of 29 (69%) field goals, 43 punts averaging 39.8 yards, 33 kick-offs averaging 56.6 yards and 3 singles

Outstanding Return Specialist - Declan Mullin – Edmonton Wildcats- 13 kick=off returns for 380 and 2 touchdowns, 26 punt returns for 152 yards

Rookie of the Year – Reece McCormick (defensive lineman) – Regina Thunder – 16 tackles, 4 assisted tackles, 3 sacks

Most Valuable Player - Rylan Sokul – Regina Thunder (receiver) – 38 receptions for 621 yards and 6 touchdowns

Outstanding Defensive Player of the Year – Austin Daisy (linebacker) – Calgary Colts - 55 tackles, 14 assisted tackles, 2.5 sacks, 1 knockdown, 1 forced fumble, 1 interception

Sunday afternoon the Thunder will host the Winnipeg Rifles while the Saskatoon Hilltops welcome the Edmonton Huskies.  The winners will match-up for the Conference Final scheduled for November 14th.
