The Thunder, Huskies and Hilltops each win

The Thunder used a 20-point second quarter on route to their fifth win of the season.  Quarterback Zenon Orobko completed 13 passes for 222 yards and threw second quarter touchdown passes to Isaiah Woodley and Isaac Foord to lead the way.  On the ground Ryland Leichert collected 97 yards on 19 carries.

Defensively Matthew Schill made a bid for the player of the week award with 11 tackles, a sack and returned an interception 24 yards.

The Wildcats only touchdown came early in the fourth quarter when quarterback Devin Desormeau punched it in from a yard out.  In the passing game he did complete 17 passes for 200 yards.

This coming weekend the Thunder (5-0) will now host the Wildcats (2-3) in the second half of the home and home on Sunday.

Saskatoon Hilltops 25
Winnipeg Rifles 10

The Hilltops got back on the winning track in a turnover filled affair at home.   The teams combined for 13 turnovers including six picks.  

Quarterback Damon Dutton led the Toppers with 22 completions for 210 yards and three touchdowns.   Ethan Godson caught eight passes for a game high 123 yards and two of those majors while Lachlan Horsley caught the other.   Running back Boston Davidsen also scored a touchdown on 21 carries and 137 yards.

Linebacker Konnor Johnson picked off two Rifle passes and recovered a fumble.

The lone Rifles touchdown came on the ground courtesy of Ivan Jaque and a three-yard run in the first quarter.

Defensive back Kyle Chorney had a big game with six tackles, two assists and an interception.

This weekend the Hilltops (3-2) will host the Edmonton Huskies (4-1) in a massive game on Sunday while the Rifles (1-4) host the Calgary Colts (0-5).

The Huskies cruised to their fourth win of the season after a 42-point first half. Running back Alex Gayle had a monster game with four touchdowns on 19 carries and 149 yards. Quarterback Declan O’Flaherty completed 13 passes for 238 yards and threw three touchdown passes; a pair to De Shawn Le Jour and one to Caleb Akerley.

The Huskies defence also got in on the scoring when Roman Iwuc picked off a pass and it returned it 60-yards for a score in the second quarter.  Cheyvez Campbell was also a major factor with two interceptions and four tackles.

Both of the Colts touchdowns came in the fourth quarter when quarterbacks Justin Verloop and Nick Kennedy each threw touchdown passes.   Okoth Okello and Noah Toth were on the receiving end of those scores.

This Sunday the Huskies (4-1) will stay on the road to face the Saskatoon Hilltops (3-2) in a massive game while the Colts (0-5) are on the road to face the Winnipeg Rifles (1-4).
