The Rams, Sun and Rebels each win

The Sun won their third game of the season behind a massive running attack led by Malcolm Miller who set a team record with 325 yards on 39 carries and also scored three touchdowns.   The yardage is also third most ever in the BC Conference. In all the offence racked up 489 total yards, mostly on the ground through Miller.  Quarterback Dominic Britton threw for 111 yards and completed a touchdown pass to Tristan Peddle.

The Raiders didn’t have much luck against the Sun defence on the ground, however they did gain 203 yards through the air.  Quarterback Jacob Laberge completed 17 passes and threw touchdowns to Maren Bradbrooke and Marcel Grant.

Defensively Sean Murray made 10 tackles and Sean Adams and Jacub Gillman each picked off a pass.

This coming weekend the Sun (3-1) will stay on the road and face the Kamloops Broncos (0-3) in the first half of a home and home while the Raiders (1-2) will visit the Valley Huskers (2-2).

The Rams defence continues to give the opposition fits. On Saturday they held the Huskers to just 93 yards of net offence and did some scoring of their own.

Defensive back Ryan Bathleson picked off a pass and return it 50 yards for a touchdown.  Not to be outdone, Colten Dejong also returned an interception for a touchdown, but his was a tad shorter at only seven yards. Meanwhile Tyler Eckert had three sacks and a pair of tackles.

Offensively the Rams moved the ball more than the Huskers however they didn’t score an offensive touchdown. Two quarterbacks combined for 13 completions and 138 yards while running back Joel Klassen rushed for 88 yards on 15 carries.

This coming weekend the Rams (3-0) will host the Westshore Rebels (1-2) and the Huskers (2-2) welcome the VI Raiders (1-2).

Kamloops Broncos 14

The Rebels record their first win of the season by pounding the Broncos combining for 572 yards of total offence. Running back Zach Lubin pounded the rock 20 times for 205 yards and scored two touchdowns. Rookie Bronxx Comia and Kieran Poissant also scored in the ground game.  Quarterback Colby Henkel had his best game of the season against his former team. He completed 14 passes for 279 yards and had three touchdown passes.  Ali Rose caught a pair of those majors and Poissant hauled in the other.

The Broncos scored a pair of touchdowns courtesy of the pass.  Quarterback Matthew Wilson threw for 174 yards and hit Alex Rowlandson and Ayden Cummins for majors.

This coming weekend the Rebels (1-2) visit the Langley Rams (3-0) and the Broncos (0-3) will host the Okanagan Sun (3-1) on Sunday.
