Not since the 1990 season has the Windsor AKO Fratmen and London Beefeaters met in the Ontario Conference final, a streak of 29 years that will finally be broken on Sunday at 8:00pm.  WATCH HERE

The winner of this game will host the Prairie Conference winner on November 2nd for the right to compete for the Canadian Bowl championship.

During the regular season these two teams split their games with the Beefeaters winning 41-34 at the beginning of September.  The Fratmen returned the favour on September 28th in a 28-13 win.

This is the sixth time these two have met in the CJFL playoffs and the Fratmen have won every single one of them including a 46-0 shutout in last year’s semi-final.  Each one of these previously played playoff games had lopsided scores except in 1990 when the Frat held on for a four point win.

Here in 2019 these offences are the only two in the Conference to score over 300 points and are very balanced.  A pair of Fratmen quarterbacks combined to set a new CJFL record with 41 passing touchdowns.  They also tallied 2900 yards on 170 completions. They had a pair of the Conference’s best receivers to throw to.  Jared Hayes-Williams and Cody Holmes combined for 21 touchdowns on 95 completions and 1464 yards.

On the other side of the field the Beefeaters offence loves to run with both Danny Byrne and Tazie Vang-Bell.  They combined for 96 carries for 879 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Defensively these two teams don’t give up much.  The Fratmen led the Conference with 41 takeaways and the Beefeaters recorded 31.  Incredibly the teams combined for 27 interceptions.

The coaching match-up will be fun to watch with the veteran and Conference Coach of the Year Mike LaChance facing the first year CJFL head coach Jesse Maddox.

The Fratmen got back to the Conference final game after pounding the GTA Grizzlies 51-0 last weekend, while the Beefeaters knocked off the defending champion Hurricanes 17-8.
