VI Raiders @ Westshore Rebels – Saturday October 26, 7:00pm – Westhills Stadium | WATCH HERE

For the first time since the 2017 Cullen Cup the Raiders face the Rebels in an all Island semi-final.  That game in 2017 was in Westshore and the Raiders played the upset card and won 21-7 in the pouring rain.

This past regular season the Rebels swept the season series winning at home 39-30 in Week 2, then went on the road at the end of September for a 19-14 victory at Caledonia Park.

The Rebels passing game has had excellent success against the Raiders secondary this season.  Quarterback Shawn Lal made his CJFL debut against the Raiders in Week 2 and has fond memories finishing with 11 completions for 328 yards and a pair of touchdowns.  This was the same game in which receiver Jeffroy Ojong caught four passes for an incredible 237 yards and both touchdowns.

In their second meeting in late September the Rebels had a comfortable lead of 19-0 heading in the fourth quarter.  That lead quickly started to evaporate in the fourth quarter when the Raiders scored 14 unanswered points and fell just short of the comeback victory.

Despite their records, the Rebels and Raiders are fairly evenly matched coming into the CJFL playoffs.    The Environment Canada forecast is calling of an outstanding day of sunny skies and a high of 11, which will show the playmakers on both teams.
