The Prairie Conference announced their Most Outstanding Players and Coach of the Year for the 2019 season as a build up to the Prairie championship game on Sunday when the #1 Saskatoon Hilltops host the #3 Edmonton Huskies.
Prairie Conference Outstanding Players:
Coach of the Year – Tom Sargeant – Saskatoon Hilltops (8-0). He led the Fratmen to another first place finish and home field advantage throughout the Prairie Conference playoffs.
Outstanding Offensive Lineman – Logan Ferland – Regina Thunder
Outstanding Running Back – Brandt Burzuk – Edmonton Huskies – 129 carries for 824 yards, 6 touchdowns
Outstanding Receiver – Isaac Food – Regina Thunder – 31 receptions for 605 yards, 2 touchdowns
Outstanding Quarterback – Blake Scherle – 144 completions, 58.3% completion percentage, 2196 yards, 17 touchdowns, 93.8% passer efficiency rating
Outstanding Defensive Lineman – Carson Bell – Regina Thunder – 11 tackles, 13 assisted tackles, 2.5 sacks, 1 fumble recovery
Outstanding Linebacker – Jadyn Pingue – Saskatoon Hilltops – 29 tackles, 7 assisted tackles, 1 knockdown, 1 fumble recovery, 1 interception
Outstanding Defensive Back – Colton Holmes – Saskatoon Hilltops – 12 tackles, 5 assisted tackles, 2 knockdowns, 1 fumble recovery, 1 interception
Outstanding Special Teams Player – Rylan Kleiter – Saskatoon Hilltops – 18/22 field goals, 46 kick-offs, 51.1 yard average
Rookie of the Year – Justin McKerracher – Regina Thunder
Most Valuable Player - Brandt Burzuk – Edmonton Huskies – 129 carries for 824 yards, 6 touchdowns

Sunday the Hilltops will host the Huskies in the Prairie Conference championship game with the winner traveling to meet the Ontario Conference champion in the CJFL National Semi-Final game on November 2nd.
