The Raiders win on Saturday helped them finish third in the Conference.  They scored 10 of their 13 points in the first half and then their defence took over.

Offensively quarterback Cole McGarvey finished with 11 completions for 164 yards and threw a major to Alex Bonnetplume for their lone touchdown of the contest.  Kicker Nickolas Hunchak added to the scoring with a 30 yard field goal.

Defensively the Raiders held the Huskers to 128 yards of total offence and forced five turnovers.  Gevhahn McNally-Hardisty, Tyler Hill and Ethan Moran intercepted passes and Nicholas Robinson collected three sacks.

The lone Huskers score came on the defensive side when Braeden Johnson picked up a loose ball and returned it 30 yards for a touchdown.

The Raiders (5-5) advance to the CJFL Canadian Bowl Championship Series and are the third seed in the BC Conference.  They will travel to face the Westshore Rebels (8-2) in a semi-final this coming weekend.

Langley Rams 64
Kamloops Broncos 3

The Rams become the first team to finish undefeated in the BC Conference since 2015 after dismantling the Broncos on Saturday.

The night belonged to running back Andrew Pocrnic who with his six rushing touchdowns set a new CJFL record for most touchdowns in a single season with 27.  His 26 rushing touchdowns also set a new CJFL mark.  He finished the game with 222 yards on 19 carries.

All-Star quarterback Duncan Little had the night off, so a pair of backups had a chance to shine.   Trey Jones threw a touchdown pass to Jesse Walker.

The Rams “D” forced six turnovers including a 39 yard pick-six from Michael Baerg.

The lone Broncos points came from the leg of Landon Munk and a 17 yard field goal.

This coming weekend the Rams (10-0) will host the Okanagan Sun (5-5) in the CJFL Canadian Bowl Championship Series.  The winner will play for the BC Conference Cullen Cup.

Westshore Rebels 16
Okanagan Sun 9

In the driving rain on Vancouver Island the Rebels managed to win a sloppy game and lock down the second seed in the BC Conference.

Zach Lubin carried the majority of the load for the Rebels with 28 rushes for 162 yard and scored a touchdown.  Quarterback Shawn Lal threw for 136 yards and found Kael Leachman for a major.

The Rebels didn’t give up much of the defensive side and forced four turnovers including three fumbles.  Jesse Zajaros recovered one of them and had three tackles.

With the loss the Sun drop to the fourth seed and really couldn’t get much going against the Rebels.  They threw for just 46 yards but did find some success on the ground behind Kelton Kouri’s 119 yards on 16 carries.

The Sun defence kept the game close and produced the lone touchdown.  Garret Cape picked up a fumble and returned it 40 yards for the score.  Tyler Going recorded a pair of sacks and had five tackles.

The Rebels (8-2) will now welcome their Island rival the VI Raiders (5-5) this coming weekend for a BC Conference semi-final and the Sun (5-5) will travel to Langley for a date with the top seeded Rams (10-0).
