The Ontario Conference announced their Most Outstanding Players and Coach of the Year for the 2019 season as a build up to the Ontario championship game on Saturday when the #1 Windsor AKO Fratmen host the #3 London Beefeaters

Ontario Conference Outstanding Players:

Coach of the Year – Mike LaChance – Windsor AKO Fratmen (7-1).  He led the Fratmen to another first place finish and home field advantage throughout the Ontario playoffs.

Outstanding Offensive Lineman – Matt Bettencourt – London Beefeaters AND James Sides – Hamilton Hurricanes

Outstanding Defensive Lineman – Tom Zarafonaitis – Hamilton Hurricanes (second consecutive year) – 5.5 sacks, 13 solo tackles, 3 assisted tackles, 1 forced fumble and 2 fumble recoveries

Alex Stajic Memorial Special Teams – Dante Fornasiero – Windsor AKO Fratmen (second straight year)

Return Specialist – Harvey Mafuta – GTA Grizzlies – 14 kick-off returns averaging 28.1 yards and a 109 yard TD.  11 punt returns, 18.1 yard average and a 65 yard punt return for a touchdown

Offensive Rookie of the Year – Harvey Mafuta – GTA Grizzlies – 18 receptions for 352 yards, 2 touchdowns, 15 rushing yards, 1 touchdown

Defensive Rookie of the Year – Mark Straw – GTA Grizzlies – 30 tackles, 5 assisted tackles, 3 sacks, 1 blocked kick, 1 knockdown, 1 interception

Outstanding Defensive Player of the Year – Linebacker Mark Straw – GTA Grizzlies – 30 tackles, 5 assisted tackles, 3 sacks, 1 blocked kick, 1 knockdown, 1 interception

Outstanding Offensive Player of the Year – Receiver Cody Holmes – Windsor AKO Fratmen – 45 receptions, 683 yards, 12 touchdowns

Saturday the Fratmen will host the Beefeaters in the Ontario Conference championship game with the winner hosting the Prairie Conference champion in the CJFL National Semi-Final game on November 2nd.
