The old saying goes, “records are meant to be broken.”  Saturday night in Langley a CJFL record that has stood since 2006 fell at the hands…or should we say legs of running back Andrew Pocrnic.

In the Rams final regular season game the former Kamloops Bronco faced his old team and rushed for his 27th touchdown of the year setting a new CJFL single season record.  The old record was held by Tristan Jones of the Edmonton Wildcats who scored 25 rushing touchdowns in 2006.  Pocrnic also smashed the single season BC Conference record which was formally held by Andrew Harris when he rushed for 20 touchdowns in 2009 on route to a Canadian Bowl title.

Saturday night he rushed for six touchdowns and was unstoppable on the ground as the Rams stomped on the Broncos 64-3.

What a difference a year and a new offence line makes.  Last season as a member of the Broncos Pocrnic rushed 80 times for 355 yards and scored just two touchdowns.   He scored an incredible 25 more majors this season.

The Rams finish the regular season at 10-0 and have home field advantage throughout the playoffs.  The winner of the BC Conference will host the 2019 Canadian Bowl on November 16th.
