The London Beefeaters wrapped up an outstanding regular season finishing with six wins and are preparing for the Canadian Bowl playoffs beginning this weekend.
The Beefeaters’ defence led the Ontario Conference allowing the least amount of points, giving up just 87 in their eight games, an average of 10.8 points a game. Meanwhile their offensive punch had the second highest points per game, scoring 40.7 a contest.
The run game was outstanding with three of the top four rushers in the Conference. Danny Byrne won the Ontario Conference rushing title with 57 carries and 465 yards and four touchdowns. Tazie Vang-Bell had the Conference’s highest average, rushing for 11 yards a carry. He ran 39 times for 414 yards and six touchdowns while Felix Noel carried the rock 51 times for 355 yards and five scores.
The Beefeaters have been led by first year head coach Jesse Maddox who talks to Ryan Watters about the season that was, and the playoffs still to come.
