The Rams, Rebels and Sun win in Week 10

Down by four heading into the final quarter, the Sun scored nine points in the fourth to claim the five point victory; their fifth of the season.

Quarterback Alex Douglas threw a pair of touchdown passes finding Chan Lual from 33 yards out and Conor Richard with a massive 80 catch and run to the house.  Kicker Isaac Wegner added a pair of field goals as well.

On the defence the Sun forced five turnovers getting interceptions from Mitch Walz, Tyler Going and Cole Stregger.  Brenden Ripco was solid with a team high seven tackles.

The Raiders outgained the Sun but couldn’t hold the lead in the fourth quarter.  Quarterback Keagen Henderson found North Rainey for their lone touchdown strike.    Kicker Nickolas Hunchak connected on a pair of field goals from 21 and 29 yards away.

Defensively Nils Haeni was outstanding with three sacks, three tackles and a fumble recovery.  Tyler Hill added a game high eight tackles and jumped on a fumble.

This weekend both teams will enjoy a Thanksgiving bye.  On October 19th the Raiders (4-5) host the Valley Huskers (2-7) while the Sun (5-4) visit the Westshore Rebels (7-2) on the 20th in a possible playoff preview.

The Rams exploded for 33 points in the second quarter and never looked back crushing the Huskers in Chilliwack.

CJFL leading rusher Andrew Pocrnic had an incredible game scoring five touchdowns on 17 carries.  He also caught a touchdown pass and had 85 yards.  Three quarterbacks combined for 13 completions, 345 yards and four touchdowns.  Liam Stewart caught two majors while Jarryd Taylor hauled in the other.

The defence also got on the scoreboard on a 23 yard pick six by Kyle Clarot.  Nathan Murray collected a pair of interceptions.

This weekend both teams will enjoy a Thanksgiving bye.  On October 19th the Rams (9-0) will host the Kamloops Broncos (0-9) while the Huskers (2-7) visit the VI Raiders (4-5).

Westshore Rebels 63

The Rebels dominated the Broncos collecting 490 total offensive yards.  Through the air two quarterbacks combined for 331 yards on 19 completions and connected on four touchdowns.  Will Hughes caught two of those majors while Chase Hennessey and Nathan Falito caught the others.  Falito ended the game with five receptions for 116 yards.

On the ground Zach Lubin had an outstanding game with 118 yards on 17 carries and three touchdowns.

The defence forced seven turnovers including three interceptions by Maleek Womack.  Khai Mithcell-Nguyen had an interception and a 40 yard fumble recovery for a touchdown.

This weekend both teams will enjoy a Thanksgiving bye.  On October 19th the Broncos (0-9) visit the Langley Rams (9-0) while the Rebels (7-2) host the Okanagan Sun (5-4) on the 20th in a possible playoff preview.
