Offensive Players of the Week

BC Conference
QB Duncan Little – Langley Rams

The Rams clinched home field advantage throughout the post season after a blowout victory on Saturday.  The main reason was again their offensive leader in quarterback Duncan Little who completed 19 passes for an outstanding 369 yards and four touchdowns.   His 369 yards of passing more than doubled the Okanagan Sun offensive totals.

Ontario Conference
QB Colton Allen - Windsor AKO Fratmen

In a crucial win over the London Beefeaters that will allow the Fratmen to control their path to home field advantage throughout the playoffs, Colton Allen completed 17 of 31 attempts for 220 yards with four of those completions going for touchdowns.  Allen also had three carries for 26 yards.

Prairie Conference
RB Brandt Burzuk – Edmonton Huskies

The driving force behind the Huskies road win in Winnipeg was their run game and Brandt Bruzuk led the way.  He gained 127 yards on 20 carries and had three touchdowns. He also added two receptions for 24 yards.

Defensive Players of the Week

BC Conference
LB Cole Barron – Langley Rams

The Rams defence was stifling on the weekend helping them to clinch home field advantage throughout the playoffs.  Linebacker Cole Barron led the way with five solo tackles, 1.5 sacks and forced a fumble.

Ontario Conference
DB Dante Fornasiero - Windsor AKO Fratmen

For the second straight week the defensive player of the week comes from the Fratmen secondary.  Fornasiero intercepted a pair of passes as well as contributed six tackles in a massive home win over the rival London Beefeaters.

Prairie Conference
DB Matt Zarowny – Edmonton Wildcats

Despite a loss defensive back Matt Zarowny was outstanding against the defending champion Hilltops.  He blocked a kick, had five tackles, assisted on one and had a knockdown.

Special Teams Players of the Week

BC Conference
K Ethen Homan – Valley Huskers

He connected on all three field goal attempts on the weekend hitting from 32, 33 and 19 yards out. He was also perfect on his three converts and got the Huskers out of trouble punting nine times and averaging 30 yards a boot.

Ontario Conference
KR Joey Cortese - London Beefeaters

Despite the loss, Joey Cortese was a bright spot for the Beefeaters in all facets of special teams play.  Cortese repeatedly gave the Beefeaters great field position returning four kickoffs for 114 yards,  with his longest return going for 60 yards.  Cortese also returned two punts for 28 yards and returned a missed field goal nine yards.  Cortese also snuffed out a potential big return with a key tackle as part of the Beefeater coverage unit.

Prairie Conference
K Rylan Kleiter – Saskatoon Hilltops

For the second straight week Rylan Kleiter was solid.  He collected three field goals and scored 12 points.  He also averaged 49 yards on six kick-offs.
