The Thunder scored 15 points in the final quarter to claw back and beat the Huskies in Regina on a field goal with 28 seconds left off the foot of Eric Maximuk.

Offensively of the 341 yards of total offence the Thunder collected, 315 of it was through the air.  Quarterback Blake Scherle completed just 18 passes and did connect for two touchdowns.   He found Ethan Douglas nine times for 134 yards and a score and hit Rylan Sokul for a 36 yard TD strike.

On the defensive side of things both Brandyn Martin and Justin McKerracher each picked off two passes.  Martin also added a fumble recovery and four solo tackles.

The win is especially important as it’s the only meeting between these two teams as they come down the stretch to the playoffs.

The Huskies led for three quarters, but couldn’t hold on for the road victory.  Quarterback Declan O’Flaherty completed 19 passes for 239 yards and a pair of touchdowns.  He connected with Sam Clayton and Adner St. Hilaire for majors.

In the loss Justin Hodinsky was outstanding in the Huskies secondary.  He made two interceptions, knocked down a pair of passes and had four solo tackles.

This coming weekend the Thunder (3-2) visit the Calgary Colts (1-4) on Sunday while the Huskies (3-2) travel to Winnipeg to face the Rifles (1-4).

Defensively the Wildcats forced four turnovers and pitched a shutout.  Matt Zarowny picked off a pass as did Colton MacNeil.  The Wildcats held the Rifles to just 180 yards of total offence.
