The Fratmen made a statement this past weekend with a very balanced game between their offence and defence.  In all they compiled 440 yards of total offence and only allowed 150 to the previously undefeated Hurricanes.

Of the 440 yards of offence, 433 of it came through the air.  Quarterback Daniel Mailloux completed 18 passes for 294 yards and three touchdowns and also ran for one. Meanwhile back-up Colton Allen gathered another 139 yards and threw a major.

Four different receivers caught touchdown passes.  Branden McCraney caught a touchdown and had 110 yards on only four receptions.  Michael Ryan hauled in five passes for 105 yards and a major while Cody Holmes and Jared Hayes-Williams also caught touchdown passes.

The defence was solid racking up five sacks and forcing four turnovers.  Elijah Blyhe had a game high seven tackles and a pick.  Jalen Butcher also had an interception.

The Hurricanes struggled in Windsor with their quarterback Ethan Belbeck one of the bright spots.  He threw for 149 yards and two touchdowns and ran for two others.  Both Keyshaun Jordan and Quincey Belanger each caught a touchdown pass.

Defensively the Canes tallied four sacks, two of them by Isaiah Joseph.   Demarre Brown collected five solo tackles, a knockdown and had a fumble recovery.

This coming weekend the Fratmen (3-1) visit the GTA Grizzlies (1-4) on Sunday while the Hurricanes (4-1) host the Niagara Raiders (1-4) on Saturday afternoon.

The Beefeaters scored 21 points in the second quarter and never looked back pounding the Grizzlies.  Quarterback Jake Pow returned and threw for 232 yards and a touchdown.  Clarke McCallum also threw a touchdown pass.  Felix Noel and Spencer Foster each hauled in a major.

On the ground Danny Bryne scored two touchdowns and Noel and Tazie Vang-Bell each scored one of their own.

The defence even got on the scoreboard and forced four turnovers.  Perhaps the highlight was when Will Corcoran recovered a fumble and returned it 75 yards for a touchdown.  They also compiled four sacks.

The lone Grizzlies points came on a 28 yard field goal from kicker Gagan Bains.

This coming weekend the Beefeaters (4-1) will host the Ottawa Sooners (1-3) and the Grizzlies (1-4) will welcome the Windsor AKO Fratmen (3-1).

Ottawa Sooners 24
Niagara Raiders 6

The Sooners get in the win column for the first time this season scoring 17 points in the final quarter highlighted with a balanced attack led by the run game.  Five ball carriers tallied 188 yards with Rogean Wilson and quarterback Brett Massonaive each scoring touchdowns.  Massonaive also threw for 129 yards and found Shamar Skerritt for a major.

Defensively Cameron Howes was a beast with three sacks, four solo tackles and a knockdown.  Max Sabourin had a pair of interceptions.

The Raiders struggled on the offensive side.  Quarterback Ethan Stokes scored their lone touchdown, scoring it with his legs rather than his arm.  He finished throwing for 167 yards.

On the defensive side Nathanael Willems had a nice game blocking a kick, recovering it and also made five solo tackles.

This coming weekend the Sooners (1-3) will visit the London Beefeaters (4-1) and the Raiders (1-4) will play in Hamilton against the Hurricanes (4-1) at 1:00pm on Saturday opening Week 8 of the CJFL season.
