The Huskies beat the Rifles in the lone PFC game

The lone game in the Prairie Conference this past weekend saw the Huskies score 18 of their 28 points in the second quarter on route to a victory.

Their special teams hit the scoresheet twice with long touchdown plays making the difference.  Adner St. Hilaire returned a punt for a major and Ben Wilton had a 112 yard kick-off return for a touchdown.

Quarterback Declan O’Flaherty completed 17 passes for 178 yards and threw a touchdown pass to St. Hilaire.  Meanwhile the ground game was led by Brandt Burzuk who tallied 116 yards on 18 carries.

The Huskies defence force six Rifles’ turnovers including three interceptions and Cole Lindberg had a team high nine solo tackles.

Despite the loss the Rifles outgained the Huskies gathering 424 yards of total offence, mainly from their passing attack.  Quarterback Riley Naujoks completed an impressive 26 passes for346 yards and threw touchdown passes to Eric Klein and Mathe Mitayango.

The Rifles’ defence was led by Troy Wilson and his nine solo tackles while Jake Richardson had an interception.

This coming weekend the Huskies (3-1) visit the Regina Thunder (2-2) while the Rifles (1-3) host the Edmonton Wildcats (1-3) with both games set for Sunday afternoon.
