The most exciting game in BC this past weekend was in Kelowna at the Apple Bowl.  The defending Cullen Cup champions stay undefeated thanks to a touchdown with 12 seconds left to push past the Sun on Sunday.

Defence was the name of the game for both teams.  The Rams were led by Cole Barron and his game high eight tackles.  Kyle Clarot chipped in with four tackles and a knockdown.

The Rams last second touchdown was scored on the ground by quarterback Colby Peters.  Their only other scoring was a pair of Jayden Sheilan field goals and two singles.

The Sun defence forced four turnovers including three interceptions, two by Nate Adams.  Dawson Puk had a game high five tackles and had one of three sacks.

Their lone offensive touchdown came in the first quarter as running back Malcolm Miller scored.

This coming weekend the Rams (5-0) will travel to face the VI Raiders (3-2) at 2:00pm on Saturday while the Sun (2-3) head to Kamloops to face the Broncos (0-5).

Westshore Rebels 45
Kamloops Broncos 0

The Rebels defence was outstanding limiting the Broncos to -11 net offensive yards.  They would force four turnovers and had three sacks.  Both Cordell Holder and Jason Pyper recovered fumbles.

Offensively quarterback Shawn Lal finished with 14 completions for 347 yards and threw four touchdown passes and ran for one.  Brycen Mayoh hauled in a pair of those majors while Jeffroy Ojong and Hayden Crothers caught the others.  Zach Lubin also scored a major, but with the ground game.

The Broncos defence was on the field for the majority of the game. Scott Poelzer had the game’s lone interception, Mixon Madland had a pair of sacks and Abe Fimbo had a game high seven tackles.

This coming weekend the Rebels (4-1) will host the Valley Huskers (1-4) on Sunday while the Broncos (0-5) will welcome the Okanagan Sun (2-3) on Saturday afternoon.

VI Raiders 47
Valley Huskers 16

The Raiders primarily used their air assault to take out the Huskers with 331 yards, split with a pair of quarterbacks.  Jake Laberge completed eight passes, four of them for touchdowns and 180 yards.  Cole McGarvey added seven more completions, 151 yards and two more majors.  North Rainey was outstanding with seven receptions for 186 yards and two touchdowns.  Mike West and Alex Bonnetplume each caught two touchdown passes.

Defensively they would intercept three Husker passes.  Gevhahn McNally-Hardisty, Andre Gordon and Tyler Hill each had a pick.  Nils Haeni blocked a kick and Nathan Cayouette had a team high six tackles.

Not much went right for the Huskers.  Their lone touchdown came on a 16 yard pass play from quarterback Logan McDonald to Dylan Manocha.

Defensively Brendan Desjardine had a nice game with two and a half sacks.

This coming weekend the Raiders (3-2) will host the Langley Rams (5-0) while the Huskers (1-4) will also be on the island visiting the Westshore Rebels (4-1).
