Offensive Players of the Week

Ontario Conference
QB Daniel Mailloux – Windsor AKO Fratmen

In playing roughly only one half of the game against the Niagara Raiders, Daniel Mailloux completed 66% of his passes for 252 yards and an incredible six touchdowns as the Fratmen improved to 2-0 on the season with a lopsided victory.

Prairie Conference
QB Riley Naujoks – Winnipeg Rifles

In an important game against the Thunder quarterback Riley Naujoks of the Rifles seemed to guide his club during every offensive possession.  He completed an incredible 39 passes, third most in CJFL history, for 575 yards and had a touchdown.    His 575 yards set a new Prairie Conference record and is now third most in CJFL history.  His 63 attempts is the second most ever in CJFL history.  To add to his passing stats Naujoks also rushed six times for 19 yards.

Defensive Players of the Week

Ontario Conference
DB Demarre Brown – Hamilton Hurricanes

In helping to lead the Hurricane defence in an impressive home victory against the visiting Grizzlies, Demarre Brown contributed in a big way recovering a fumble for a big touchdown that helped to overcome a shaky start.  Brown also contributed three solo tackles on the day.

Prairie Conference
DL Jaxon Funk – Saskatoon Hilltops

He was an absolute force on the defensive line for the Hilltops in a battle for first place on Sunday.    He collected 11 tackles, had an assisted stop and had a knockdown.

Special Teams Players of the Week

Ontario Conference
K Gagan Bains – GTA Grizzlies

Despite the road loss, the special teams continue to be a bright spot for the Grizzlies this season.  Kicker Gagan Bains has followed up his 2018 All-Star season with another solid start to the 2019 campaign.  He was perfect on his only convert, as well as both field goal attempts with his longest coming from 42 yards out.

Prairie Conference
K Alex Minor – Winnipeg Rifles

For the second straight week Rifles’ kicker Alex Minor played an important piece.  He tallied 19 of the Rifles 45 points on the weekend connecting on five field goals and all four convert attempts.    He also tallied 176 yards on four kick-offs.
