The Rams jumped out of the gate in a battle of undefeated teams scoring 21 points in the first quarter setting the tone.  In all they tallied 377 yards of total offence and five different players scored touchdowns.

Quarterback Duncan Little threw a pair of touchdown passes and Tristan Secord-Yanciw threw one as they combined for 208 yards on 12 completions.    Khalik Johnson, Jarryd Taylor and Liam Stewart each hauled in a TD while Andrew Pocrnic and Jevon Garwood scored a major on the ground.  Pocrnic rushed 26 times for 158 yards and his score.

The Rams defence held the Rebels ground attack to just 12 yards.  Colton De Jong had a massive game with three sacks and three tackles.  Ryan Barthelson blocked a kick and Michael Baerg intercepted a pass.

The Rebels showed again they are a strong second half team scoring 23 points in the final two quarters.  Pivot Shawn Lal collected 22 completions for 276 yards, threw for three touchdowns and ran for one.   He found Brycen Mayoh for two touchdown receptions and Hayden Crothers for the other one.

Following the bye week the Rams (4-0) will go on the road to face the Okanagan Sun (2-2) while the Rebels (3-1) will be in Kamloops to visit the Broncos (0-4).

The Raiders defence was suffocating on Saturday forcing seven turnovers including five interceptions and kept the Sun out of the end zone.  Both Jeremie Cheng and Ethan Morgan had two interceptions each and a pick-six.  Blake Johnson also had an interception.  The defence held the Sun passing game to just 79 yards.

Offensively quarterback Cole McGarvey finished with 14 completions for 268 yards and threw touchdown passes to North Rainey and Alex Bonnetplume.  Meanwhile Eli Nelms-Horton caught four passes for 139 yards.  Jason Henderson rumbled 24 yards for a touchdown as well.

One of the bright spots for the Sun was their ground attack.  Eight different ball carriers rushed 36 times for 252 yards.   Kicker Isaac Wegner was the main offensive punch hitting three field goals.

Following the bye week the Raiders (2-2) will visit the Valley Huskers (1-3) and the Sun (2-2) host the Langley Rams (4-0).

Valley Huskers 47
Kamloops Broncos 35

The Huskers punched the Broncos in the mouth in the first quarter scoring 21 points and never looked back on route to their first win of the season.

Logan McDonald was excellent completing 18 passes for 231 yards and threw a touchdown.  Former Bronco pivot Reid Vankoughnett faced his old team throwing a touchdown and 130 yards.  Ten different Huskers caught passes including Brandon Poulin who hauled in 10 passes for 93 yards and a score.  Ethan Diakow also caught a touchdown pass.

Both quarterbacks each scored a rushing touchdown and running back Ethan Paul also got into the end zone on six carries.

The Huskers defence bent but didn’t break against the Broncos and Desmond Jeanson picked off his first pass of the season.

For the Broncos and their quarterback this game was by far their best of the season.  Nicolas Nica was outstanding completing 20 passes for 366 yards and four touchdowns.  He also ran five times for 54 yards and a score.   Garrett Kryzanowski hauled in six of those passes for 188 yards and two scorers.  Matt Wight and Evan Guizzo also caught touchdown passes.

Following the bye week the Huskers (1-3) will host the VI Raiders (2-2) on Sunday September 8th.  The Broncos (0-4) will welcome the Westshore Rebels (3-1).
