Offensive Players of the Week
BC Conference
QB Cole McGarvey – VI Raiders
His first CJFL start was a memorable one for Cole McGarvey. He led the Raiders to their first win of the season completing 17 passes for 406 yards, averaging 24 yards a completion and threw an incredible five touchdown passes. He also ran three times for nine yards.
Prairie Conference
QB Blake Scherle – Regina Thunder
He was the difference maker in the Thunder’s comeback win. He finished with 29 completions for 352 yards and threw three touchdown passes to three different receivers. He also scampered out of trouble twice for 10 yards.
Ontario Conference
RB Felix Noel – London Beefeaters
He set the tone early for the Beefeaters blowout victory. He rushed nine times for 147 yards and had a touchdown
Defensive Players of the Week
BC Conference
DB Maleek Womack – Westshore Rebels
He once again made his presence felt in the Rebels secondary intercepting two passes and combining for 35 returned yards. He also totalled four solo tackles, had a sack and a knockdown.
Prairie Conference
DB Cheyvez Campbell – Edmonton Huskies
Wow what a game from Cheyvez Campbell on Saturday in a Huskies victory. He intercepted four passes and had a fumble recovery, in all forcing five turnovers. He also added an assisted tackle.
Ontario Conference
LB Mark Straw – GTA Grizzlies
In a losing effort on the road in Windsor, the Grizzlies’ linebacker Mark Straw was seemingly all over the field accumulating eight tackles on defence, including six of the solo variety while also contributing two more solo tackles on special teams.
Special Teams Players of the Week
BC Conference
K Kyle Clarke – Westshore Rebels
He tallied 10 of the Rebels 16 points scored on Saturday. He was a perfect 3-3 in field goals and connected on his only convert attempt. He also recorded five kickoffs for a gross of 244 yards.
Prairie Conference
K Eric Maximuik – Regina Thunder
He was instrumental in the Thunder comeback win on Sunday. He nailed three field goals including a 43 yarder. He was also perfect in three convert attempts. He made flipping the field look easy with six punts averaging 32 yards pinning the Edmonton Wildcats deep.
Ontario Conference
K Brenden Brody – Windsor AKO Fratmen
Whenever the Fratmen offence were forced to punt, Brenden Bondy’s leg was able to constantly flip the field and pin the Grizzlies with poor field position throughout the game. In total Bondy had seven punts with a gross average of 35.57 yards with an even more important net average of 32.57 yards.
