Canadian Junior Football League

Regular Season 2014

Week 4 - BC Conference
Quinton Bowles – VI Raiders AND DB Aldrich Berrios – Okanagan Sun

It was a record tying day for defensive lineman Quinton Bowles.  He tallied five sacks, tying a CJFL single game record and also threw in a tackle.  Meanwhile defensive back Aldrich Berrios was a ball hawk on Saturday night intercepting four passes and had a fumble recovery.

Week 4 - Prairie Conference
Devon Williamson – Regina Thunder
The Thunder defence was suffocating on Saturday completely shutting down the Edmonton Wildcats offence.  Leading the way was linebacker Devon Williamson who collected two tackles, had an assisted stop, a sack and blocked a kick.

Week 4 - Ontario Conference
Nicolas George – Ottawa Sooners

Nicolas was solid despite the Sooners loss on Saturday.   Against the defending Conference champion Hamilton Hurricanes he compiled eight tackles, had half a sack, and returned an interception 55 yards for a touchdown.  This Saturday his Sooners will play the Saskatoon Hilltops in a history making CJFL Interconference game in Saskatoon.

Week 2 - BC Conference
Kyle Charot - Langley Rams

The 19 year old Kyle Clarot had one of, if not the play of the week, intercepting a pass on his own four yard line and returned it 106 yards for a touchdown.  The play put an emphatic stamp on the Rams defensive shutout.  The Langley native also collected two tackles and had a knockdown in the Rams first win of the season.

Week 1 - BC Conference
Tye Kitzman – Okanagan Sun

He “picked” the perfect time to get his first interception of the season.   The CJFL Defensive Player of the Week Tye Kitzman ended Saturday night’s Cullen Cup rematch with an interception as the Westshore Rebels were trying to extend the game.  The pick was the icing on the cake for the third year defensive back as he also had five tackles, an assisted stop and a knockdown.
