Offensive Players of the Week

BC Conference
RB Zander Bailey – VI Raiders

With the passing game almost non-existent due to pouring rain the Raiders used the ground attack to drive their offence.  Zander Bailey collected 113 difficult yards on 25 carries behind a strong surge from the Raiders offence line to gain field position.  He was a big reason why the Raiders won the Cullen Cup for the first time since 2013.

Prairie Conference
RB Adam Machart – Saskatoon Hilltops

With All-Star Logan Fischer not in the line-up the Hilltops didn’t miss a beat in the run game with Adam Machart.  The third year back carried the rock 22 times for an incredible 206 yards and a touchdown behind the massive offensive line.

Ontario Conference
QB Brandon Reaume – Windsor AKO Fratmen

He was a one man machine in the Fratmen’s playoff win over the Ottawa Sooners.  Through the air he was 17 of 25 for 261 yards and threw three touchdown passes.  When there was coverage Reaume decided to use his legs gaining 61 yards on 12 carries and scored two more touchdowns.

Defensive Players of the Week

BC Conference
DB Shawn Arabsky – VI Raiders

The Raiders completely shut down the Westshore Rebels high octane offence on Saturday night to claim the BC Conference Cullen Cup.  For the second straight playoff game Arabsky picked off two passes and had a knockdown to lead the way.  During the regular season he collected three interceptions, but in two playoff games, he’s had four.

Prairie Conference
DB Colton Holmes – Saskatoon Hilltops

He was simply outstanding against the pass friendly Regina Thunder making six solo tackles and two assisted stops keeping the receivers at bay.

Ontario Conference
LB Tyler Kelly – Hamilton Hurricanes

Kelly had himself a game on Saturday when the Hurricanes punched their ticket to the Conference final in hopes of defending their title.  Kelly collected an impressive four sacks, five solo tackles, assisted on another, knocked down a pass and blocked a kick.

Special Teams Players of the Week

BC Conference
K/P Nic Hunchak – VI Raiders

Field position on Saturday night was so important in the rain. Raiders’ punter Nic Hunchak took advantage and didn’t give the Rebels return game much to work with.  He pounded 15 punts averaging 38.5 yards and even scored a single to add to the Raiders scoring.

Prairie Conference
K Eric Maximuik – Regina Thunder

He scored six points for the Thunder in a losing cause with a 28 yard field goal and was a perfect 3-3 in converts.  He also collected 12 kicks for an average of 27.5 yards performing punts and kick-offs.

Ontario Conference
KR/PR Spencer Trinier – Windsor AKO Fratmen

He gave the Fratmen excellent field position on his six returns gaining 143 yards including a 50 yard scamper.
