Offensive Players of the Week

Prairie Conference
Offensive line – Saskatoon Hilltops

They have been dominating all year and Sunday’s playoff game was no different.  The combination of Mason Ochs, Talon Elderkin, Jack Sloboda, Pat Arno and Kirk Simonsen opened holes for the Hilltops running backs who collected 258 rushing yards against a solid Rifles defensive line.  As a matter of fact two Hilltops rushers took advantage of the stellar blocking by gaining over 100 yards a piece.

BC Conference
WR Brycen Mayoh – VI Raiders

He was the brightest star on the field on Sunday in the BC semi-final.  Mayoh hauled in five passes for 109 yards and scored both Raiders touchdowns including a 52 yarder that proved to be the game winner.

Defensive Players of the Week

Prairie Conference
DB Cordell Kadash – Regina Thunder

He was part of a defence that was able to shut down the high powered Edmonton Huskies offence in their playoff meeting.  Kadash made seven tackles, had two assisted stops, an interception and a knockdown.

BC Conference
DB Shawn Arabsky – VI Raiders

He led the Raiders defence that completely frustrated the Conference’s top offence.  Arabsky had two interceptions, blocked a kick and had four tackles holding the Sun to just eight points and clinching a spot in the Cullen Cup title game.

Special Teams Players of the Week

Prairie Conference
R Josh Ewanchyna – Saskatoon Hilltops

He set the tone for the Hilltops playoff game on the very first play returning the opening kick-off 91 yards for a touchdown.  It was a lead the Hilltops never relinquished.

BC Conference
R Brandon Gandrie -Westshore Rebels

He helped jump start the Rebels offence by giving his teammates tremendous field position after five kick-off returns for 124 yards, a 24.8 yard average.
