The 2017 post season is here

The CJFL Canadian Bowl Championship Series opens this weekend with four games.

BC CONFERENCE - SATURDAY

#4 Langley Rams @ #1 Westshore Rebels | WATCH HERE – 7:00pm

First up will be Saturday night when defending Conference champion Westshore Rebels host the Langley Rams.  It’s the eighth time these two teams have played in BC Conference semi-final.  The Rebels have won four of the previous seven games; however the Rams have won the last two in 2012 and 2009.  The last Rebels win over the Rams in the semi was in 2004.

BC CONFERENCE - SUNDAY

#3 VI Raiders @ #2 Okanagan Sun | WATCH HERE | LISTEN HERE (Sun call) – 1:00pm

Sunday afternoon at 1:00pm the Okanagan Sun host the VI Raiders in the second BC Conference semi-final with the winner moving on to the Cullen Cup title game.  This is the fourth time they have met in a Conference semi-final, which the Raiders have won twice.  That said, it’s the ninth time they lock up in the playoffs.  Their last post season meeting was the Cullen Cup title game in 2015 that the Sun won 54-0 at the Apple Bowl.

PRAIRIE CONFERENCE – SUNDAY

#4 Winnipeg Rifles @ #1 Saskatoon Hilltops | WATCH HERE | LISTEN HERE (Hilltops call) – 1:00pm

These two teams are very familiar with each other in the playoffs and will meet for the seventh time in the Conference semi-final and third time in four seasons.  Each of the previous six meetings have been played in Saskatoon and the Hilltops have won all of them.   They last met in 2015 when the Hilltops won 49-21.  Looking back at all-time match ups, the Rifles last won in Saskatoon in 2005 during the regular season winning by five points 26-21.  Kick-off is set for 1:00pm.

#3 Regina Thunder @ #2 Edmonton Huskies | WATCH HERE – 1:00pm

It’s just the third time these two teams have met in the CJFL Canadian Bowl Championship Series.   In 2013 the Thunder won 26-17 and back in 2003 the Huskies won 30-21.  That said, they will be rather familiar with each other meeting just three weeks ago at Clarke Park where the Huskies threw for 444 yards and won 62-30.  Both teams enter the playoffs on a loss, which they will quickly need to forget once the ball is kicked off in Edmonton.  This is the first CJFL playoff game in the City of Champions since 2009, also the last time an Edmonton team played for a Canadian Bowl.

ONTARIO CONFERENCE

The Ontario Conference semi-finals will take place next week on Saturday October 21st.  First up will be the #3 London Beefeaters visiting the #2 Hamilton Hurricanes at 4:00pm, then the #4 Ottawa Sooners meet the #1 Windsor AKO Fratmen at 7:30pm.  The winner will play for the Conference final.
