The Canadian Junior Football League in conjunction with the BC Conference is proud to announce the 2017 Conference Defensive All-Stars.
There are four positional categories and the second place Okanagan Sun led the Conference with five All-Stars followed by three players from the VI Raiders.
The 2017 BC Conference Defensive All-Stars are:
Defensive Line:
Quinton Bowles*** (pictured) – VI Raiders – 24 tackles, 5 assisted tackles, 11.5 sacks,** 1 fumble recovery
Brody Taylor – VI Raiders – 22 tackles, 4 assisted tackles, 7.5 tackles and 1 blocked kick
Kent Hicks – Westshore Rebels (second consecutive year) – 10 tackles, 5 assisted tackles, 7 sacks, 1 blocked kick, 1 knockdown, 1 forced fumble and 1 fumble recovery for a touchdown
Jeremie Drouin – Westshore Rebels – 24 tackles, 6 assisted tackles, 4 sacks, 1 forced fumble and 1 fumble recovery
Cole Klughart – Okanagan Sun – 14 tackles, 4 assisted tackles and 4.5 sacks
Linebackers:
Conor Richard – Okanagan Sun (second consecutive year) – 29 tackles, 7 assisted tackles, 2 sacks, 1 blocked kick, 4 knockdowns, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery and 1 interception for a touchdown
Eli Haynes – Okanagan Sun – 38 tackles*, 6 assisted tackles, 4 knockdowns, 2 forced fumbles and 2 fumble recoveries
Jesse Zajaros – Kamloops Broncos – 36 tackles, 10 assisted tackles, 1 sack, 1 knockdown and 1 forced fumble
Defensive Backs:
Beck Fullerton – Okanagan Sun (second consecutive year) – 15 tackles, 5 assisted tackles, 2 knockdowns, 2 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries and 2 interceptions
Tye Kitzman – Okanagan Sun – 29 tackles, 8 assisted tackles, 10 knockdowns, 6 interceptions and 1 touchdown
Danny Harris – Valley Huskers – 25 tackles, 2 assisted tackles, 7 knockdowns, 2 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery and 3 interceptions
Desmond Jeanson –Valley Huskers – 34 tackles, 4 assisted tackles, 1 blocked kick, 1 knockdown, 1 forced fumble and 3 interceptions
Kyle Clarot – Langley Rams – 22 tackles, 4 assisted tackles, 5 knockdowns, 2 interceptions and 1 touchdown
Punter:
Nic Hunchak – VI Raiders – 59 punts with a net average of 29.6 yards a kick. His longest kick was 68 yards and he did record one rouge.

The BC Conference is preparing for the 2017 CJFL Canadian Bowl Championship Series. On Saturday the top ranked Westshore Rebels (9-1) host the fourth seeded Langley Rams (4-6) at 7:00pm, then on Sunday the second seeded Okanagan Sun (8-1-1) welcome the third seeded VI Raiders (6-3-1) at 1:00pm.
