The CJFL is proud to announce their Players of the Week following an exciting Week 11 and the regular season finale.

Offensive Players of the Week

Ontario Conference
QB Brandon Reaume – Windsor AKO Fratmen

With five touchdown passes on Saturday Reaume becomes the new Fratmen franchise record holder with 21 touchdown passes in a single season.  In their win against the London Beefeaters he finished 16 of 23 for 303 yards and those five TD passes.  On the ground he scored another major on a one-yard plunge.

Prairie Conference
RB Josh Ewanchyna – Saskatoon Hilltops

The ground game propelled the Hilltops to clinch first place in the Prairie Conference and Ewanchyna was a huge part of that. He rushed 17 times for an even 100 yards and scored two touchdowns.

BC Conference
RB Trey Campbell – Westshore Rebels

He saved one of his best performances for when it mattered most.  Campbell helped the Rebels clinch home field advantage throughout the BC Conference playoffs after 23 carries for 145 yards and collected two touchdowns.  He also came out of the backfield to make one catch for 19 yards.

Defensive Players of the Week

Ontario Conference
LB Jean Charles Robenson – Ottawa Sooners

The Sooners clinched the final playoff spot in Ontario thanks to their stifling defence.  Robenson led the way with three blocked kicks, three solo tackles and assisted on two others.  Their defence held the GTA Grizzlies to 132 yards of total offence.

Prairie Conference
DB Luke Melnyk – Saskatoon Hilltops

He saved a great individual performance for his final CJFL regular season game.  The fifth year senior tallied nine solo tackles, had one assisted tackle, one knockdown and an interception as the he and the Hilltops clinched first place and home field advantage throughout the Prairie Conference playoffs.

BC Conference
LB Jeremie Cheng – VI Raiders

What a performance from Cheng intercepting two passes and returning one of them 47 yards for a touchdown.  In total he collected 77 return yards from his interceptions.  He also made four solo tackles and assisted on two others.

Special Teams Players of the Week

Ontario Conference
K Johnny Reikel - Hamilton Hurricanes

He accounted for 11 points for the Hurricanes, scoring more points than the Niagara Regional Raiders could muster up in the Canes victory.  He also tallied nine kick-offs that grossed and impressive 542 yards.

Prairie Conference
R Isaiah Brown – Edmonton Wildcats

He was excellent returning kicks for the Wildcats earning some tough yards on Sunday.  He finished with nine returns for 90 yards in the regular season finale.

BC Conference
KR Conor Richard – Okanagan Sun

Richard gives the Sun other option on kick returns after Saturday night’s game.  He tallied six kick-off returns, averaging 30 yards a return.  His longest sprint was 53 yards, setting up the Sun with great field position.
