The Fratmen, Beefs and Sooners each win

It was a rematch of last season’s Ontario Conference final and the Fratmen were able to get a small measure of payback after both teams combined for 34 points in the fourth quarter.

The visiting Fratmen compiled 470 yards of total offence led by quarterback Brandon Reaume who completed 17 of 23 for 254 yards and threw a touchdown pass to D’Angelo Knox.  Speaking of Knox he carried 15 times for 172 yards and scored another touchdown.  Jakoby Jones rushed nine times and scored a pair of touchdowns.

Defensively the Fratmen compiled four sacks and Adam Chin recovered a fumble.

The Hurricanes dropped their second game of the year despite 213 yards and a touchdown from quarterback Jake Marquette.   He finished 13 of 21 and hit Trey Ivey six times for 144 yards and the major. David Adeniran was solid with 13 carries for 110 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Ty Kelly led the defence with four tackles and a sack and a half.

The Fratmen (5-1) will have a bye this coming weekend while the Hurricanes (3-2) will visit Edmonton to face the Wildcats (0-5) in a CJFL Interconference Game on Saturday night.

GTA Grizzlies 7

The Beefeaters got back into the win column on the strength of a well-balanced game.  Quarterback Clarke McCallum completed 17 passes for 278 yards and threw a pair of touchdowns.   Both Mark Devlin and Hayden Amis scored majors.

On the defence they were just as solid holding the Grizzlies to 43 yards on the ground.  They collected three sacks and Chase McGee had a pick.

The Grizzlies moved the ball courtesy of the pass as Drew Besco had 12 completions for 219 yards and threw a touchdown to Justin Oag.

On the defence Omiyi Williams had an incredible game with four sacks.

The Beefeaters (4-1) will travel to Calgary to face the Colts (1-4) in a CJFL Interconference Game on Sunday afternoon.  The Grizzlies (0-5) will look for their first win next weekend when they face the Niagara Regional Raiders (0-5).
