London Beefeaters 23
GTA Grizzlies 10

Neither team played an exhibition game coming into this season, however many consider Sunday’s game much like one with not much offence.

The Beefeaters quarterback Clarke McCallum completed 17 passes for 175 yards and found Kennedy Magee for a major.  Hayden Amis was his favourite target hauling in 10 passes for 109 yards.

Defensively they held the Grizzlies to 104 total yards and forced seven turnovers.  Both Isaiah Johns and Spencer Bollman intercepted passes while Elias Hajjar had a sack.

The Grizzlies lone touchdown came from a Drew Besco pass to Joshua Menna.

Their defence forced four turnovers including interceptions from Tyler Dekkers and Terrell Vassell.  Dekkers also had a sack and a half.

This coming weekend the Beefeaters (1-0) will host the Niagara Regional Raiders (0-1) in their home opener on Saturday night while the Grizzlies (0-1) will travel to Windsor to face the AKO Fratmen (1-1) that afternoon.
