The defending BC Champs open their title defence

The defending BC Conference champion Westshore Rebels begin a new era on Saturday July 29th when they kick-off their title defence.

Gone is CJFL Coach of the Year JC Boice, CJFL Outstanding Offensive Player of the Year Jamel Lyles and starting quarterback Ashton MacKinnon.    This is now Charly Cardilicchia’s team as the long time Rebel takes over for Boice.  On the field Trey Campbell gets his opportunity without Lyles while Scott Borden will set up under centre.

It’s a new feel, but at the same time the Rebels are the team to beat.  They have strengthened their defence and believe they are more balanced on the offensive side.

Off the field the Rebels have a new President in Rob Lervold and have launched their new Junior Rebels Club matching kids with a number of players on their roster.

Their title defence opens with three straight road games beginning at the Okanagan Sun, before finally hosting their home opener on Saturday August 19 against the Langley Rams.
