He enters his third season with the Regina Thunder

During the 2017 season the Regina Thunder are looking for someone to step up and fill the cleats of their graduated pass rushers…enter Braxton Turnbull.

Now entering his third season and with the likes of Ryan Warner graduated, Turnbull will be looked upon as the Thunder’s sack master.  He’s ready to be that “guy.”

Thunder head coach Scott MacAulay says Turnbull can play the three-tech as well as the boundary end.  “He’s worked extremely hard this off season and is in great shape.  He’s spent a lot of time honing his pass rush skill sets and we expect him to be a menace in the backfield.”

As a sophomore last year Turnbull cut his teeth in all eight games after appearing in just one during his rookie campaign. A year ago the Regina native, collected a pair of sacks, but was seemingly in the backfield often showing off his speed and agility making 20 tackles and assisting on five others.

This year Turnbull will be asked to lead the charge and slowdown not only the Prairie Conference quarterbacks, but stopping the big bruising running backs as well.

The Thunder open the new CJFL season at home in a Week 1 showdown with the Saskatoon Hilltops on Saturday August 12 at 7:00pm.  Turnbull would like nothing more than to introduce himself to the new Hilltops quarterback on more than one occasion that evening.
