The Melfort, SK native will enter his third season with the Thunder

One of the major reasons the Regina Thunder had one of, if not the best running attack across the CJFL last season was the play of their offensive line, anchored by Logan Ferland.

In just his second season he was voted in as a unanimous selection as a Prairie Conference All-Star.  He helped the Thunder to average 176.7 yards a game led by the only PFC 1,000 yard rusher in Victor St. Pierre Laviolette (1,020).

He says joining the Thunder prior to the 2015 season was easy for him following a successful high school career in Melfort, Saskatchewan. “The great coaching staff and how they focus on your personal development along with winning a national championship. Competition is what I love and the Regina Thunder Football Club had just that.”

The 6’4, 265 pounder has had some interest from U Sports schools however he believes he still has lots of room to grow in the CJFL.

When not blowing up holes for Thunder running backs, Ferland is in his second year of apprenticeship in carpentry.  The combination of football and his apprenticeship doesn’t leave a lot of time for social activities but he always finds time to visit family as much as possible.

Ferland is often in the gym and building on his overall strength when not working.  He can bench press 340lbs.

The 2017 season will be Ferland’s third year and with aspirations of a career in the CFL, he will be called upon to lead the offensive line both on the field and off it as well.
