Third year offensive lineman from the Windsor AKO Fratmen

Last season the Windsor AKO Fratmen running attack was a critical part of their run to another OFC championship appearance.  Two players finished in the top five of the OFC’s leading rushers.

Cody McCann rushed 79 times for 603 yards while Jakoby Jones carried the rock 74 times for 547 yards.

With the running game clicking, the Fratmen passing game was one of the best across the entire CJFL, thanks in large part to the offensive line and the time they were able to give quarterback Austin Lumley.    The veteran pivot completed 50% of his passes for 1482 yards and 17 touchdowns.

DeMarcus Ware was a major part of the AKO line with bloodlines running through the organization.  His uncle played for the Fratmen and Ware wanted to follow suit.

After an outstanding 2016 season Ware had interest from U-Sport schools such as Windsor, Guelph, Acadia and Western, however he has something else on his mind.  Following a loss in the OFC final to Hamilton Ware wants “vengeance” and to settle the score with the Hurricanes so has committed to return in 2017 to the Fratmen.

In preparation for the upcoming season he has focused on getting bigger, stronger and faster.  He is trying to position himself to make a CFL team coming straight from a junior program.  If that road doesn’t pan out, Ware will have his eyes set on jumping to U-Sport with the ultimate goal to win a pro contract from there.

When the third year veteran isn’t practicing or working out, he’s studying or cleaning up around the house.  Or you could find him working at Europa Marble & Granite in Windsor.

He’s a solid body on the AKO Fratmen offensive line and now DeMarcus Ware is a CJFL Weekend Warrior.
