The best defensive players in the PFC in 2016

The Prairie Conference of the CJFL is pleased to announce their Defensive All Stars for the 2016 regular season.

The Calgary Colts lead all teams with seven players named to the Defensive All-Star Team.

Defensive All-Stars

Defensive Line:
Blake Hermann – Saskatoon Hilltops (second consecutive year) – 17 tackles, 8 assists, 5 sacks, 2 blocks, 2 knockdowns, 1 fumble recovery
Ryan Warner – Regina Thunder – 15 tackles, 11 assists, 2 sacks, 1 forced fumble
Chris Peet-Schwarz – Calgary Colts – 17 tackles, 12 assists, 3.5 sacks, 1 fumble recovery
J-min Pelley – Calgary Colts - 10 tackles, 5 assists, 1 sack, 2 fumble recoveries

Linebackers:
Cameron Schnitzler – Saskatoon Hilltops – 40 tackles, 13 assists, 1 sack, 2 forced fumbles
Colton Burr – Calgary Colts – 41 tackles, 13 assists, 1 block, 3 knockdowns, 1 fumble recovery, 3 interceptions
Paul Toth – Regina Thunder (second consecutive year) – 30 tackles, 23 assists*, 1 interceptions for a touchdown

Defensive Backs:
Taylor Mayer – Regina Thunder (second consecutive year) – 11 tackles, 8 assists, 1 knockdown, 5 interceptions*
Dylan Neidermaier – Calgary Colts (second consecutive year) – 24 tackles, 13 assists, 1 block, 1 knockdown, 1 fumble recovery, 3 interceptions
Marcus Hall – Regina Thunder – 32 tackles, 11 assists, 1 block, 3 knockdowns, 2 interceptions, 1 for a touchdown
Luc Catellier – Calgary Colts – 17 tackles, 5 assists, 1 knockdown, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery, 3 interceptions
Jordy Kibamba – Calgary Colts – 18 tackles, 4 assists, 3 knockdowns, 1 interceptions

Return Specialist:
Logan Fischer – Saskatoon Hilltops –12 punt returns for 161 yards, averaging 13.4 yards

Punter:
Stephan Fabian – Calgary Colts** – 63 punts, 2,256 net yards*, 35.8 net average*

The PFC will continue with the major announcements as the Most Outstanding Players, Coach of the Year and Rookie Team will be announced tomorrow (Thursday) at 10:30am MST.  The Prairie Conference final will kick-off at 1:00pm on Sunday afternoon in Saskatoon when the Hilltops host the Calgary Colts.  The winner will fly to BC for the 2016 CJFL Canadian Bowl National Championship game.
